As one of the newest towering structures in downtown Chicago, the “River Point Building” has a curvy construction and a bold appearance.
Built by architects Pickard and Chilton, this ultra-modern skyscraper stands at 52 stories tall. A little interesting tidbit about the construction of this building: it is so close to the Chicago Transit Authority’s train tracks that some of the building’s steel columns actually lean inward. Good idea, I’d say.
The ‘rippled reflection’ on the surface of the Chicago River is delightful! As a couple of boats had recently caused some ripples, this adds to the interest of the reflection. I compare it to a distorted mirror at a carnival!
I’m going to take a walk inside of this building to see if there is anything unusual about its interior. Normally I prefer old structures but this one has its own personality, so I’m liking it quite a bit.
I hope you have a lovely day with rippled effects of happiness!

It’s a great looking buifor sure, Cher. Why is it a good thing that the steel is leaning though?

Thank you, John! Oh, it is because the building would have literally hit the train tracks had it not been curved inward and away from the them. 🙂 Cher xo

Oh, I see. Thanks. These architects and engineers are mighty smart folk to figure out how to build such structures.

I usually prefer historical buildings and old properties but that is a beautiful modern structure. I love how reflective it is, the light just bounces off it.

I am the exact same, Jean! This is definitely not my favorite type of architecture; however, as you mentioned, it’s so reflective and I think that brings an entirely unique element to it! Thank you, Jean! Cher xo

Also, I’ve been meaning to ask, but it keeps slipping my mind – what happened to your Twitter share button? I’ve been retweeting directly on Twitter (as you know 😊) but it would be cool to share directly from here as well. Just curious. Bright Spring blessings to you, my friend! ❤️

That’s a sharp-looking building, and it’s in a great area: the West Loop is really starting to come alive (at least, that’s what I’m reading). Great picture!

Once again, you are correct John! The West Loop is exactly where this building is located. Oh yes, it truly is! Thank you, John! I’m not able to stump you with the location of my photos; I’ll have to find something obscure! Then again, you will probably know exactly where it is! LOL Cher xo
