Happy New Year from The Chicago Files!!

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! I hope that 2023 is your best year yet!

The pandemic has created chaos for everyone. I think it is time we look forward and take this New Year as a sign of hope, change, peace, and prosperity.

I don’t like New Year’s resolutions because they are often difficult to maintain. However, there is one change that I am making, and I encourage you to think about it as well.

I will incorporate much more self-care into every day this year. It is essential and does not negate caring for others. In fact, it shows that when we talk about caring for people, it must include ourselves!

For many of us, self-care is a concerted effort. And yet, with a few tweaks here and there, it can become part of our daily lives.

Self-care can include the little things, such as taking a few minutes to do some deep breathing. It can mean that extra cup of tea. How about taking the time to think about all the fantastic things we have to be grateful for every day.

Showing and expressing gratitude is a great way to practice self-care. When we stop to realize how much goodness is in our lives, it can help us shift from a lack mindset to an overwhelming realization of how much abundance we have.

So, in my little corner of the world, I declare 2023 the year of self-care!

I will check in with you all this year to see if you are practicing more self-care, what tips you might have to share, and any thoughts on making it a habit rather than squeezing it into your already busy day.

Happy New Year to my dear readers! I can never express how much it means to me when you stop by my blog. You are a huge blessing to me! Thank you!
