Downtown Chicago: Reflective Perspective!

I took this photo last week while on the train (which was moving at the time, believe it or not)!  I just love this area of downtown Chicago (who am I kidding; I love all of downtown Chicago).  It is extremely difficult to get bored when there is always so much to look at! Do you see the glass, sort of greenish building in the background?  If you look carefully you will see the reflection of another building in its windows.

Despite its grey, melancholy appearance with a sunless day, I still think this scene is interesting. The other thing that I always seem to talk about when it comes to Chicago’s architecture is the eclectic blend between old and new. Strangely, it always seems to work together quite nicely.

Old bridges, new skyscrapers, and a plethora of everything in between, Chicago’s constantly evolving structures make even the drab days come alive!

Alo, Andy! Oh yes, it certainly does! One of my absolute favorite things to do in Chicago is to take an architectural boat tour! Yup, lots of river traffic!! *LOL* Cher xo

Excellent question and the answer is: Yes, in the Spring-Fall there is a water taxi! People go from one section of the river down to another via water taxi. I’ve never used it, but I’d like to! Does Van have anything like that? 🙂

My husband and I went on an architectural boat tour a few years ago- even though I had been to Chicago countless times (living so nearby), I was still surprised at all the cool places there are to discover. 🙂

Isn’t it cool, Kat? I have literally been on that tour at least 14 or 15 times (anyone who comes into town knows where I am taking them! LOL) . I too still get surprised by something I didn’t know about! Cher xo

Were you on the Purple or Brown line? I don’t think the Blue or Pink lines run across that bridge…

Just discovering the beauty of using the walkway along the Chicago River. It offers a new perspective on the city.
