[This is a repost of a post I wrote several years ago. I thought a good chuckle was in order! I hope you enjoy it — have a wee laugh if you are so inclined!]
The GIGANTIC door in the photo above is 14 feet high; yes, I kid you not. Well, funny, I would use the word “kid” as this door is not functional; it is a display of sorts at “Big Monster Toys Company” here in Chicago. Look who is guarding the toy company with mammoth teeth and googly eyes:
Why, it’s this guy, “Big Monster” himself! I daresay not too many people will get past this green, hairy, scary guy, will they? To put the size of the door into perspective, I waited until a couple of people walked by; you’ll see what I mean:
I tried to get a good photo of the door; however, I had to stand on the road and watch for traffic to get the pictures you see here! Suffice it to say they were a quick snap and got back on the sidewalk quickly!
I attempted to see if there was another door into the building, one without a centurion monster! I couldn’t find anything open to the public. I sure wanted to get past that furry fiend and take a peek inside! Ah, Chicago, you are filled with fun!

Yes, I saw it’s size, it must be tough to keep that door sealed in winter. Just guessing!
I hadn’t even thought of that, John! Maybe the monster scares the drafts away! I mean, he is pretty hulking after all! LOL Cher xoxoxo
Yeah, he’s a huge guard dog! 💀 I just changed the seals on my doors because even here it’s drafty and the bugs and scorpions had an easy ingress… No more!

Nope! I’ve been out of Michigan since 2103, have we been following each other that long or am I missing something? I like to take a black light flashlight out at night and go shining for scorpions. You must have long pants, full shoes and socks. And, a tool like a very long screwdriver or other tools to terminate them. Sounds like great fun, eh? Not! 😂
