Welcome to the ‘new’ Chicago Files! I’ve made some updates and changes to the blog which I am really hoping you will enjoy! [please excuse any little thing that isn’t working properly; however, please let me know if you find something not loading correctly, etc.]
Some of the features I’d like to bring to your attention can be found at the very bottom of the page. I’ve added a section where you can see thumbnail photos of some of the pictures I have taken for my posts.
There is also a blog search section along with the “Tag Cloud”; by clicking on any word you will get a list of posts that the particular word appears in.
The side-bar on the right-hand-side will show you my latest posts; there is also a new feature that I’m really excited to share with you.
I’ll be recording little “What Cher is Saying Today” notes so if you would like to take a listen, please feel free to do so! Right now I’ve just included a 35-second (or so) reading that I did as a sample for voice-over auditions (something I love to do).
**If you have a moment, I would really appreciate it if you can please let me know if you can hear my recording. I have had a fellow blogger mention she could hear it (thank you, Bette!) but I want to make sure it is working on all devices. Thank you!

The colour is lovely Cher, on my iPad, the entire blog is deflecting left though in Landscape mode.

The new theme rendered perfectly on my MacBook Pro though, I guess it’s just the way the iPad renders the theme. Sorry!

Ok, good idea. The theme I’ve been using a good bit now is called Opti. It renders beautifully on all my devices. changing your theme can sometimes result in misalignments of things on the pages.
I don’t know if I saw Opti when searching for a new theme, John. Yes, definitely not all themes work well on all devices, but I’ll see if there is anything I can change to get it looking better on all devices! Thank you again for letting me know! Cher xo

It’s looking great, Cher. Love the background colour you’ve used. I can hear you loud and clear. One piece of advice I would offer you is to make the email address, on your contact info page, spam and spambot proof by adding some extra words that spambots won’t be able to pick up. For example, something like this, Cher at WordPress dot Com
That way, the spambots won’t be able to figure out what the email address actually is, although readers will see what they need to do to contact you. You shouldn’t then be bombarded by spam mail. Of course, feel free to ignore this advice if you feel you won’t be bombarded by spam but it was just a thought given that in today’s’ s data world, it’s vital to keep our personal information safe.

It is pretty hard to keep up with all devices and browsers. Your theme is probably better than most at compatibility.
