More Frank Lloyd Wright Design from 1902 – Arthur B. Heurtley House

Frank Lloyd Wright 2

Now what a stark contrast to the earlier works of Frank Lloyd Wright like the photo I posted last week:  Frank Lloyd Wright’s Earlier Work  The above photo was taken on the same street as the one in last week’s post, almost across the street from one other.  Some people utterly loathe Frank Lloyd Wright’s style, while others adore it.  He loved Japan, and you can certainly see a lot of Japanese influence in most of his work.  Strangely enough, he always denied that fact for some reason.  Built in 1902, this house represents one of his earliest “Prairie Style” structures.  As with the other homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright on this particular street, I wanted catch a glimpse of who lives there, and what it feels like to walk the halls of such iconic structures.  No such luck on this particular occasion!

My husband is a big Frank Lloyd Wright fan so we have toured a few over the years. They are pretty amazing!

Believe it or not, this house was built in 1902! One of his earliest Prairie Style houses, it’s called the “Arthur B. Heurtley House”. Frank Lloyd Wright truly was ahead of his time! Cher xo

Isn’t it cool, Helen? *LOL* Well it’s funny because there was a man walking his dog nearby. I had this fleeting thought of, hhhmmm, should I ask? As it turned out, he walked up the driveway of another (stunning, yet not a FLW house)! Cher xo

I grew up in Milwaukee, WI. I love Frank Lloyd Wright. My favorite place to go was House on the Rock. I still remember the great cauldron and the fireplace! Breathtaking! Lovely photo you shared. <3

Years ago we visited a school in Wisconsin where they taught the prairie style architecture or perhaps were exhibiting it.
