How’s this for a view! This city is incredible. It never ceases to amaze me (literally). Lake Michigan is looming in the background along with various buildings of our magnificent city.
From this vantage point, you would never know we were experiencing 50 mile per hour winds!!
I hope your day is filled with inspiring moments!

Reblogged this on The Militant Negro™.
Thank you for the reblog!! Muchly appreciated! Cher xo
Love Chicago, it’s My City. Thank you.
I sure know how you feel about it! I love it here too! Thank you!! Cher xo
Give a few years and it’ll be all skyscrapers eh?
That is for sure!!! Cher xo
The wind is so fierce! OMG almost knocked me over. Never stand with your back to it…stand sideways if you’re waiting to cross the street. LOLOL Fierce. Great photo. And, of course, IT’S DARK AGAIN!!!!
I had the same experience! I was downtown and I actually had to stop walking because I couldn’t go any further for a few seconds! That is a great tip about standing sideways! Thanks for that my dear! Yes it is dark again! *LOL* The wind blew the good weather right out of the area!! Cher xo
It did and seriously…once, during the winter, we had wind like this and we had to make a human chain with strangers to get across Michigan Avenue. LOLOL Stand sideways for sure.
Wow, that must have been absolutely incredible!! Stand sideways!! Got it!! Thanks for that!! 🙂 🙂 Cher xo
totally agree, amazing photo.
Why thank you my dear! It is darker and cloudy now! What a difference from this morning when I took this photo!! Cher xo
I visited Chicago not long ago, my husband is from Chicago, my first trip there, I posted my pics coming in for a landing. So gorgeous in chicago and a hub of culture. xo
Oh is he? This is such an incredible place! I think I saw your photos! I am going to check them out again! Cher xo
xo , have a great week end Cher.
Thanks my dear! You too! Cher xo
You got the wind now eh? We got hit yesterday, gusts to sixty in the canyons.
We sure do, John! Ah, that’s about what we have right now. Some areas are getting into the 70 mile/hour range. Things are flying all over downtown; wood, pieces of buildings (lots of construction going on). Part of the “L” train-line is shut down at the moment because of flying debris!! Cher xo
Wow, that’s scary. More so when stuff blows off of buildings. Deadly…
Yes, it’s quite something! I have the news on right now and the police are giving a report as to what areas downtown are blocked off right now (more train lines are not running as well). Yikes!
Awesome indeed Cher!
Isn’t it something, Val? Cher xo
Stunning! Have a great weekend!
Thank you so much, dear Indah!! I hope you have a great weekend, too!! Cher xo
I see Chicago on TV every Tuesday & Wednesday nights.
You do? How come just those nights? Cher xo
I watch Chicago Med followed by Chicago Fire on Tuesday nights, Chicago PD on Wednesday night.
*LOL* Gotcha! Cher xo
Good xo
Wow thanks for sharing this amazing view!
Why thank you, Lyn! Cher xo
xo
🙂
Beautiful
I agree; thank you! Cher xo
No problem. Check out my blog when you get the chance 🙂
That’s a fantastic view!
It is quite amazing, isn’t it, Tonya? Cher xo
Just lovely! 🙂
I love it too, Tonya! Thank you! But I’d absolutely love your breathtaking views where you live!! Ah, the serenity from your photos is wonderful! Cher xo
Thank you for such a kind comment, Cher. That’s so nice!! :)?💛
Oh my dear, I mean it most sincerely!! Cher xo
😊
🙂
Wow for a view Cher and the weather look very clear 😀
Hi Irene! It was an amazing view and yes, a clear day until about 2 hours later! Then it was grey, and EXTREMELY windy! We had all kinds of havoc later that afternoon due to the wind! You’d never know it from that photo though, would you? Cher xo
Wind is not so easy to see, unless you show trees in the nature or so.
Very true, Irene!!
That absolutely is a stunning view, Cher! I love such city views! Was it taken from your apartment?
This was taken from a very tall building in downtown Chicago, Erika! I took it from the 45th floor! Isn’t it a great view? I love city views too! Cher xo
It is absolutely awesome! I really love that. I was standing on the Empire State Building, on the CN Tower, on the World Trade Center… I cannot get enough of such views!
Aren’t they incredible? I agree, Erika! Cher xo
Totally ☺😘
Spectacular!
Isn’t it just, Mary? I felt the same way staring out of the window!! Thank you! Cher xo
That’s one vantage point we’ve never seen; spectacular!! I do hope the view remains the same, urban development is everywhere! In our own little town of Paris, we have experienced “clear cutting” of a huge forests to make more homes!! It saddens me to see this; apparently the trees were “diseased” and are being replaced by new seedlings, I sure hope so!!!
It’s an amazing view, isn’t it? Awh, I sure hope they plant lots of trees!! I hate it when trees are cut down for ‘development’! Thank you, my dear! Cher xo
Just finished watching Divergent and Insurgent…Chicago in a new light. But I recognized many buildings, as I was supposed to. Thanks for the posting.
I haven’t seen either of those films yet, James! But I will for sure. Oh did you? Thank you!! Cher xo
Wow. Amazing
I love this view David!! Cher xo
Thanks for sharing your view, Cher, it makes me feel like I can fly, I won’t try, but it’s still an awesome feeling! 🙂
Hope this week treats you kindly, dear one. Big soaring hugs xox
Hi dear Donna! So good to see you!! Ah yes, it is quite a sight, isn’t it? Interestingly enough, I am a tad bit afraid of heights; however, not from this spectacular view for some reason! And to you as well my dear friend!! Ah, bless!! Big soaring hugs right back at you! Cher xoxo
