I was in downtown Chicago yesterday, and just happened upon this treasured sight!
This Canada Goose and its two wee goslings caused quite the stir yesterday on Chicago’s Riverwalk!
The sight of Canada Geese is not unusual – in fact, it is quite common to see many of them paddling through the Chicago River, or taking a stroll on the Riverwalk.
However, it’s rare to see goslings in accompaniment!
The Canadians caused quite a commotion, as many onlookers vied for a good spot to take photos of the trio!

And suddenly, just like that, off they went!
This cute Canadian content certainly brightened my day, and I hope it does the same for you!

The goslings are adorable! There are man made lakes near me and every spring I see families with goslings, sometimes they walk on the road and stop traffic unaware of what they are doing. 😂
They sure are, aren’t they, John? LOL Blissfully unaware, aren’t they? Thank you, my friend! Cher xoxoxo
Blissfully yes but also in danger!
Yes, that’s true, John. I guess I was thinking about the times when people are aware of them and ensure that no one moves their car until they entire brood is safely across the street. Maybe they need orange blazers! Cher xoxoxo
Hahah right!
LOL LOL xoxoxo
honk and vee
for victory
comin back north
Cher ty for the imagery
here in our central park
liberty park
you can hear both the honks of geese
and quacks of ducks!
Brilliant yet again, my haiku friend! Thank you so much! Cher xoxoxo
So, you were very lucky to spot the family. Wonderful and thanks for sharing, Cher 💖
Ah, thanks so much, dear Erika! It was the most adorable sight! The two goslings certainly stuck together, and followed mama very closely! This is a silly question, but do you have Canada Geese, Erika? I know you definitely saw them when you lived in the US! Cher xoxoxo
No, I guess we don’t (at least in our area). But we are having ducks of all kinds. If there are geese they are at farms rather than in the wild, and they are mostly the white ones. But I’ll let you know in case I see some Canada geese, now that I am aware of them 🪿
Thank you, dear Erika! I’ll bet you have ducks that I have never seen before! Yes, if you see one that looks like the one in the photo, please let me know! They migrate south to the US (from Canada) every year. It’s a sure sign for Canadians that the colder weather is on its way when you see them in (sometimes very large groups). They form a “V” shape when they fly together! Cher xoxoxo
Must be such a sight to see😍
If I can get some photos in the Autumn, I will do that for sure! Cher xoxoxo
Oh, that would be awesome, Cher 💖
I’ll be on the lookout for them – oh, I just realized that they are on their way back to Canada (I’ll find out!) so coming from or going South, I’ll see what I can film! Cher xoxoxo
👍
So cute! Thanks for sharing, Cher!
Thanks so much, Michelle! I know you have TONS of Canada Geese! I think this is the first time I have ever seen the goslings here in Chicago! Cher xoxoxo
So precious!
Ah, thank you, Becky! I love their yellow fluff! LOL Cher xoxoxo
Yes!
I always love Canada geese they are so cool and to see them with goslings is quite the site but you don’t want to get near them when they have babies unless they want to get packed packed pecked. I don’t like autocorrect sometimes. I think they’re the only Canadian visitors that don’t require a visa
Oh, I can only imagine, Joseph! I gotcha! LOL Yes, I believe you are right about the visa! LOL LOL Thank you, my friend! Cher xoxoxo
It’s a sign!
LOL LOL!!! Cher xoxoxo
So sweet. There are a lot of them around here, for sure.
Ah, thanks so much, my fellow Chicagoan! I love how the little ones stick together right behind Mama! Cher xoxoxo
