Updates on Baby Sea Otter, “Pearl”

Now that you’re caught up with the cuteness, “Luna”, or as I call her, “Pearl” is weighing in at a whopping 24 pounds; clearly a far cry from her mere 5 pounds (soaking wet!) back in October.  Having been orphaned at just 5 weeks old, the little sweetheart has stolen the hearts of everyone at the Shedd Aquarium here in Chicago.

Here’s a video showing, “Pearl” in action:

Why, she’s even encountered her first otter friend, having recently been introduced to the Shedd Aquarium’s female adult otter named, “Mari”.  Although not yet ready for continuous public appearances, “Pearl” is certain to be the star of the show once she has had a bit more time to adjust her 5 month old self to her nurturing environment.
