The Church & The Skyscraper: In The Shadow of John Hancock

Talk about architectural juxtaposition! Last week I wrote a couple of posts about the beautiful Fourth Presbyterian Church in downtown Chicago. While just outside the church I took a picture of the gargantuan John Hancock Building looming large in the background.  At 1499′, the Hancock is a formidable foe for any structure in Chicago, let alone this beautiful church built in the 1870’s.

I love varying perspectives and this certainly fits the bill!
