I love that!
My future wife was a just a teen when I first met her and Grant Park, Brookfield Zoo, and that Fountain were on the hit parade. I’m glad it’s still there and the radicals haven’t cancelled it ! Thanks !

I’ll go one better! I was there , right there! In the Summer of 1968 : the Dem Conv in Chicago – the Lakefront was like Woodstock only without the cool music and Peace Signs. Riot and Protest epicenter! A lot of damage needed repair after that was over !

No, we avoided it during the worst parts. The worst pain I felt was try to swim in Lake Michigan itself! The sun was warm, everyone was enjoying the beach, so I thought, “I can do this!” Now I know what a “Polar bear” swim feels like ! And it was summer!

I’m glad you avoided the mayhem. Well, I went ankle deep in Lake Michigan and (please keep in mind my Canadian heritage = can handle the cold? – LOL) I felt like my feet had turned into ice cubes! However, YOU can say you are a polar bear now! And that is quite the accomplishment in chilly Lake Michigan!

I’ve moved on from all the bad feelings now, that was a few years ago and I am a forever bachelor. I have missed my dad so much and he’s 95 years young! And my kids of course. My sister came to Vegas to visit me a few weeks ago and brought Covid with her. We are both over it now but man did that ruin her visit!

Good to hear you are over the bad feelings now. Awh, bless him! It will be such a nice visit for you! Oh no! People continue to think that COVID is over but it isn’t. I mean, it certainly has dramatically decreased as we know. I am so glad you are both over it now, John. Will she come back and visit some other time this year?

I hope so, Cher! We did get a nice hike in and visited the Valley of Fire State Park. I am thinking that I should wear my K95 mask on the aircraft…
