Thursday Sunrise: Streaky Skies!

I think I must have snapped a dozen or more photos of this beautiful sunrise!  It is amazing to me how the ‘scene’ literally morphs into new art within minutes (or less).

It was still dark when I looked out the window this morning and saw what I was hoping to be a beautiful, streaky sky (I could see the clouds in a sort of shadow form.) Lo and behold, here it is!

Despite this time of year being filled with busy days, I take pause when I look at this photo and remind myself that the sky painter delights in bringing moments of reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

I hope this photo provides you with a bit of a break to delight in the natural canvas of the skies over Lake Michigan!

Wow, you capture some really beautiful sunrises from home Cher! Must be nice. I was in your city December 5 and 8 at the airport again – just passin’ through. 😬

I have to admit I prefer a spectacular sunrise to a sunset.

I like in the spring and summer when the windows are open and you can hear the birds singing in anticipation of the sun. The sky slowly lightens and then the sun peaks over the eastern ridges and it feels mysterious and flirtatious and then grand with big bursts of color. Like a symphony building to a crescendo.
