The always awesome Norm from Norm 2.0 has a great weekly feature called, “Thursday Doors”. He invites fellow bloggers to share unique and interesting doors that we happen upon.
The above photo is that of the entrance to the “Fisher Building” which is located in “the loop” area in downtown Chicago.
Built in 1896, this neo-gothic style, 20-story building was sanctioned by paper tycoon Lucius Fisher.
Although the doors appear modern, the ornate detail around them is original to the building. I can see what appears to be fish (albeit scary-looking), cherubs, and seashells).
I’m always happy to see original doors on buildings, but if that isn’t practical, it’s nice to see the original frames that make these doors extra special.

It’s one of my favorite days here Cher, you know I am fascinated with doors…and this is a beautiful one! How many people have passed through these doors, how many lives lived out on the floors above…awesome! ❤ xx

Ah, that is so cool, Holly! And yes, it is fascinating to think about, isn’t it? Here’s another little door tidbit that I didn’t include in the post. Apparently the names of those “back in the day” who used to have offices in the building are still on the doors! I think it might actually be the apartment doors. So “Mr. Smith” who worked in the building 70 years ago still has his name on a door! I just love that! Thank you, my dear! Cher xo
