To say it is hot here in Chicago at the moment is an understatement. Now, relatively speaking, for some areas of the globe, the Chicago weather would be considered on the cool side. For me, it’s HOT! As a dual citizen, I’m obligated to list the temperatures in Fahrenheit and Celsius (okay, it’s not a rule or anything, but perhaps it is my feeble attempt at humor during this heatwave). The high temperature for today is 94F, or 34C.
Canadians love to talk about the weather. It is a ‘thing’ in Canada. I’ve definitely brought that cultural curiosity with me to the US of A. There is a fellow I sometimes run into here in Chicago who is from Toronto. There are two things we always chat about regardless of the season. The first is the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the other is the weather (and definitely in that order during hockey season)!
That’s the thing about Canadians; you can send us off to anywhere in the world, and we will still chat about the weather no matter what it is (or not) doing.
So here I am, writing a post, talking about the weather! Go figure!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the photo at the top of the post. I took the pic a few days ago in downtown Chicago. Suffice it to say, I desperately wanted to wade through; no, that’s not correct. I wanted to sit in it, actually. Have you ever jumped into a fountain, or facsimile thereof? I haven’t done that (yet). We had a tiny fountain in the middle of the town square in my home town; I loved that fountain. The sound of falling water is calming to me.
Here’s to fountains, air conditioning, de-humidifiers, and no-bake items to eat on sweltering days. I hope you are having a cool and calm Saturday! Now, where is that guy from Toronto when I need to chat about the weather?
Tomorrow is Canada Day, so I’ll be back then with a post about it!
Lovely read. Hockey is really taking off in the U S.

It’s very hot but broken by heavy downpours in the afternoon, so they are welcome except they always seem to come around when it’s time to walk my dog . I hear it’s very hot there in Chicago. xo

Ah, yes, I can imagine they would be welcome but not when you are walking your dog! It sure is my dear; not very pleasant at the moment. But I do have Lake Michigan across the street should I feel the need to plunge into some water! LOL Stay cool as well! Cher xo

Ik kan uw gevoelens goed begrijpen. 34 graden celcius is ook heel warm om iets te doen. Zelfs uw lievelingsdier uitlaten i dan zwaar.
