Happy Summer Solstice From Rain Soaked Chicago!

Happy Summer Solstice from The Chicago Files!  The above picture pretty much sums up the weather here.  I just took this photo, and I must say this is turning out to be one of the rainiest,  most humid Spring/Summer seasons I can remember.

So, if you have some sunshine to spare, I’d certainly trade you for any (or all) of these raindrops; please take your pick!

I think it might be a great day for me to haul out some sunrise pictures from earlier this year! 🙂

Have a lovely first day of Summer!

I’ll send you a day of sunshine in exchange for a day of rain… so I don’t have to water the front yard… look for the UPS package on your doorstep, but put your sunglasses on before opening!

We’re starting our summer pattern today: hot and humid during the day with thunderstorms at 6.

We’ve had the absolute opposite for a change in Manchester, just pure sunshine. I’m actually loving it and realising it’s the humidity that stops me functioning, not just dry heat. I really feel for your hair Cher!

Hi Chrissie! Oh did you? That’s brilliant! Yes, precisely the same with me. Coming from Canada it was quite dry but here? Oh my goodness! Yes, my hair thanks you and wonders when the frizzball surrounding my head will calm down! Hehehehe 😉 Cher xo

Cher, is it raining much with you? Here in the Netherlands we have had a wonderful spring. And now we have a few days with lower temperature. But next week we get more splendid weather. It is summer. Normally we have often many spring times with more cold weather than we have this year. We love it. We do not need to go to other countries for the weather.

Hi Annie! Oh yes, we have had rain almost for the whole week. But today the sun is shining just a bit. Ah, I am so happy to hear that your weather is lovely, Annie! I am glad it is better than what you normally get! Yes, I am sure it is so nice not to have to travel somewhere else for better weather this year! Well I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and it is always so great to hear from you! Cher xo

I’d willingly send you our sunshine in exchange for your rain. We have a drought here and I am rationing the precious rain-water for our rhododendrons. Hope the sun returns for you soon.

Hi Hilary! Ah, I’m going to send the rain across the pond, and I’m hoping the sun will be coming in our direction. Oh yes, they do need water. Thank you, Hilary! It is supposed to be quite nice tomorrow so here’s hoping). Now, I shall begin sending that rain over to you straight away! Cher xo

Oh is it, Susanne? It sure does make the summer seem shorter, doesn’t it? Cher xo
