Sorry to see it go. I lived near the Granada, another Balaban & Katz movie palace, that’s since been torn down and replaced with senior housing.

Oh has it, John? I’m hoping that something is being done with the Uptown Theatre. It’s such a classic and from what I recall reading, it was quite the place for famous people to perform, “back in the day.” Cher xo

Is there still a blues/jazz scene in Chicago hon? That post would be cool.

I think a lot of people in the U.K. who are into jazz and blues, automatically think of Chicago as it’s home so would be ace! Xx

Oh do they, Chrissie? I didn’t know that! Well apparently ‘back in the day’ this city was a jazz and blues mecca. It doesn’t seem to have the same status that it once had. But we do have, “Legends” which is a club owned by the “legendary” (and he sure is!) Buddy Guy! Buddy apparently shows up quite a bit at his place and talks with the patrons. But there is a rule: No one bothers him when there is a Chicago Bulls Basketball game on! *true story*! 😉 Cher xo

Oh I love that! That’s what you would expect from an old blues guy I guess but so many musicians seem oddly removed from their actual fans, even other muso’s these days. So that’s really lovely of him. Yeah, a dudes gotta draw the line somewhere, especially for basket ball! 😁

Isn’t that cool, Chrissie? That’s right, he’s been a Bulls fan for decades! And the fans love him and vice versa! He is a legend! Cher xo

Now there’s a city that knows its music, doesn’t it? I like a variety of music, but my favorite genre is music like this (my fav artist): http://www.davidarkenstone.com/ Cher xo
