Friday File: Chicago’s Eclectic Architectural Elements

I took this picture recently from the 19th floor of a downtown Chicago building.  I know I’ve said this before, but I absolutely love the mixture of old and new architectural styles that comprise the Chicago skyline and downtown.  It is interesting that it somehow works altogether, don’t you think? Now, I do prefer structures and buildings from decades and decades ago; however, some of the newer buildings bring a fresh element to the scenery.  You can see the, “John Hancock Building” towering in the background.

One of these days while I am taking photos from a skyscraper building, I’m sure I’ll see someone from another building taking pictures of the one I’m in! LOL

Yeah, sure did. Was on an Airbus A320 from Vegas, then a C65 Regional Jet from Chicago to Flint Bishop, about 35 minutes or so. Those RJ’s are partly assembled in Canada! !

Okay that stopped me. I was glancing down the comments and saw “Flint Bishop”. I’m a Flint native and other than signs seen during recent visits, I can’t tell you the last time I saw a reference to Bishop Airport!

I just love the architecture in Chicago and I so look forward to visiting the city again one day to soak in some more of it. Wonderful shot 🙂

Hi Norm! Ah, me too! I swear it would be enough just to look at the architecture when visiting Chicago; however, there’s so much more as well! But truth be told, the architecture is my fav (next to the deep dish pizza!) Should you find yourselves visiting Chicago, please let me know and I’d be happy to help with anything you want to know about! Cher xo
