Riding the Rails Above it All

I know I’ve said this before, but I just love the mix between old and new in downtown Chicago! It works though, don’t you think? Here is the elevated train or the “L” as Chicagoans call it, meandering through the city on Wabash Avenue.

Always such a terrific perspective from the train car vantage point!

That reminds me of standing on the platform right behind the State of Illinois Center (where I worked) and hopping on the Evanston Express every day. Yes, I love downtown Chicago and it’s old and new… mostly the old 🙂

Ah, does it, Leigh? I had heard that the now, “Purple Line” used to be called the, “Evanston Express.” I think there are a lot of people who wish it was still a ‘real’ express! (it does travel express part of the way). I agree, Leigh! Most definitely I agree! Thank you, my dear! Cher xo

They always say State Street is “the great street,” but for my money Wabash is the best.
