The “L” Train in the Space Between

I just love the “L” train (as it is affectionately called here in Chicago, representing the word, “elevated”).  I recently took this photo while waiting for the Orange Line.  To have trains meander between buildings (and have for over 100 years) is such a unique and interesting perspective.

Take the “L” and join in the space between!

Yes, it most certainly is, isn’t it? This is a photo of the Orange Line which goes out to Midway Airport and it too is a great way to get downtown! Cher xo

Yes, I’ve taken the Orange Line from Midway a few times, but usually I fly into O’Hara

I grew up there, so I was very familiar with the trains. When my grandfather died, I flew into Midway, took the Orange line downtown, got off at State and Van Buren (I think that was the stop), caught the Purple line, and rode it to 4th and Linden. Simple, right? One of my cousins’ husbands, who works for the city, couldn’t believe I knew how to do that. He was absolutely flabbergasted. I thought he figured I live in Atlanta and wouldn’t know how the trains worked, but apparently he’d never taken any train but the Red line.

No doubt they were very surprised, John! It sounds like you recalled exactly what to do! Well done! Cher xo

Can’t imagine the noise produced living next to the ‘L’ tracks.
What an incredible photo, really gives you the ‘full’ picture of these trains
This is a great photo Cher

I think you’d have to be a train fan to live that close to the ‘L’ for sure! *LOL* Ah, bless; thank you, dear Eddie! Cher xo
