The 89th annual Academy Awards (a.k.a. the, “Oscars”) are taking place in Hollywood this evening. One of the movies nominated for Best Picture (and a boatload of other awards) is, “La La Land”. A scene takes place at the Griffith Observatory (I took this photo last year when I visited Los Angeles).
I’m not normally a huge ‘awards show’ fan; however, I utterly loved La La Land. The acting was superb. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling (he’s a Canadian boy, dontcha know!) are wonderful together in this musical movie. They are both nominated for Best Actress/Actor (respectively) in a Leading Role.
Now, here’s “La La Land” (L.A., Los Angeles, City of Angels, hhhhhmmm, what else?) seen from the Griffith Observatory (it was a wee bit of a hazy day when I took this photo):
Truth be told, I’m actually going to watch this year’s awards show to see if anyone finds it necessary to add some interesting ‘comments’ to their acceptance speech. I’ve got a feeling I am not going to be disappointed (in the colorful extra added bonuses). Now, as for who wore what on the red carpet, I could care less. In fact, I actually care more about the Gross National Product of Grenada (no offense, Grenadians)!
