Do you ever look up into the clouds for answers to a pressing question? As silly as that may sound, this is precisely what I did a few days ago. The picture above is what I saw when I was doing just that; pondering and reflecting. As many of you know, I spend a lot of time on trains here in Chicago, waiting for trains, and (no surprise here!) talking about trains. As I waited for the train a few days ago, I took the opportunity to look up, way up, as opposed to my fellow commuters who were looking down onto their tiny hand-held phones: I opted to amuse myself with the blue and white ‘real’ picture above me!
There are all kinds of answers to dilemmas when we quiet our minds long enough to actually receive the information. As I looked at the wispy, welcoming clouds against their brilliant blue backdrop, I started noticing patterns and shapes of all kinds. The patterns and shapes seemed to collectively prompt my mind to begin thinking about putting together ideas to my awaiting questions. In other words, by looking at the shapes and cloud patterns with descriptions such as, “I see a grouping of 3 small clouds”, followed by, “there is a divide in another”, and then, “that particular cloud looks like a tree” (these aren’t my actual observations; I just wanted you to get the picture, literally and figuratively!) the answers seem to literally float (*grin*) right in front of you.
This may sound utterly ridiculous, but I do challenge you to give it a go sometime. Think about a question you truly wish to find the answer to, and start looking for the pieces of the puzzle in the sky. It is astounding how all of a sudden things become much clearer and, as if by magic, you’ve solved a dilemma by merely directing your glance upward, into the sky, as opposed to a downward ‘google’ glare.
Here’s to a puzzle-solving Sunday! Please let me know if you try it!
Oh and in case you are wondering, I did figure out a brilliant answer to a question I have been ruminating about; I’ll be asking the clouds for more answers this week, I’m sure of it!
