Today is, “International Women’s Day”. Women across this globe of ours have paved the way for future generations of girls to realize that they too have opportunities to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
I look back at old photographs of suffragette women who fought against inequity for the right to vote, educational opportunities, marched for the intolerance of harassment in the workplace, and to hold a meaningful place in society. We have come a long way, to be sure; however, I feel there is still a long way to go in order to see the changes we truly owe to our fellow women.
Women are the great ‘connectors’; we are the peace-makers, social schedulers, card senders, phone callers, and nest builders, if you will.
I want to give a huge thanks of gratitude to the women who strive every single day to make their own lives (and those of others) more joyful, happy, and meaningful. I am incredibly grateful to you.
This is wonderful. I love it. So many people don’t know about, or appreciate what women in the past gave up so that we could enjoy the freedoms we currently have. I agree. there’s a LONG way to go and we can never stop fighting.

Ah, thank you my dear! I agree wholeheartedly. I saw some amazing photos of women in long dresses, huge hats, sporting signs for equal rights! Had they not been the courageous souls they were, things might have been very different for us and future generations of women! Cher xo

Woman are so strong, otherwise, they wouldn’t have come so far. That was a beautiful tribute to the ones who dedicated their lives to the women rights.

I agree so deeply with this. When I got my PhD I dedicated it to my mother and three aunts – who would all have loved the opportunity that I was lucky enough to get a generation later.

I am Woman, I am invincible! (Helen Reddy) Every Woman has a voice that needs to be used, heard & encouraged. Hat’s off to Suffragette women who have gone before me with strength, courage and comradery. Alone I am one; with my sisters I am an Army!! I remember watching Norma Rae fight for Women’s Civil rights during the Industrial revolution, (with Sally Fields) thinking how strong & courageous she was fighting for what is equally Ours! Onward & Upwards Ladies!!

I love your comments my dear! I have never seen that movie, but I would like to! We really do have to take our hats off to the Suffragette women, don’t we? They were so brave and stood up for future generations of women! Bravo to them! Cher xo

cher – i have a question – why the 4444?

Oh yes, the number, “44” has been showing up for me since I was a child. I have always had a fondness for it. I thought 4444 would be even better! License plates, phone numbers, you name it; this number shows up (or double 44 as 88 also seems to show up as well). Oh and the ‘sea angel’ part; I love dolphins and angels. Dolphins have been called, “angels of the sea” since they have been known to rescue humans in danger. (So sorry for going on and on)! Cher xo
