Hi everyone! Today is the day for my first blog party! Please join in on this post! Here are the details:
1. Choose one of your favorite posts from your blog. Whatever you’d like to share with the rest of us, whether it be about travel, novels, food, personal adventures, blogging, photography, etc…………. You may share up to three of your posts during the party, but please post only one at a time. It’s best to wait awhile before sharing your second and third posts, as it will give others enough time to join in the fun!
2. Paste the link to your post in the comment section of this post; if you’d like to write something about yourself or describe your blog, we’d love it!
3. Have fun! There’s a virtual food and drink table with lots of Chicago deep-dish pizza and Canadian desserts (butter tarts and Nanaimo Bars!) Explore new blogs, comment on their posts, follow, reblog and share. Let other bloggers know that you met them here at The Chicago Files blog party! Whether you are new to the blogging world or have been part of it for a while, this is a terrific opportunity for everyone to meet new and awesome bloggers (including them meeting you)!
Thank you so much for being part of this blogging blast! I’m glad you’re here! 🙂

Thank you Cher for having this party for your friends. This is a wonderful idea for everyone to get together.
My site Pacific Paratroopers is mainly about the Pacific War. We have people of all ages and walks of life who have an interest in history, ancestry and even current events. I hope whoever stops in will enjoy their visit!!

Hello Cher and everyone 🙂 Thanks for hosting this blog party Cher. I’m actually kind of in a rut!. I have written two things recently that when it came to posting, my heart just wouldn’t let me. So, it’s been a few weeks since anything substantial on my blog. So, I’ll start by sharing a post I did on the 800km pilgrim’s walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain, when I first started blogging. My site, All About Canadian History is well, self-explanatory! Each week I explore well-known and lesser-known people/events from our nation’s past in the hopes of teaching readers a new thing or two. If I can poke holes in the idea that Canadian history is boring along the way, then I’ve done my job. 😉
My favorite post is probably my one on Sir John A. Macdonald’s Complex Legacy: https://cdnhistorybits.wordpress.com/2015/01/06/the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-sir-john-a-macdonald-complex-legacy/

I’m in on this one! I have been posting for two years now, not often but story-length about once a month. I started putting my stories together from previous journal entries. I retired in 2003 and began to seriously develop my memoirs/memories, especially about growing up in Chicago–but not limited to the City. I have so many thoughts that want expression. So it takes me a while to tell the story. I write for myself and for those who are interested. I have a few followers, and I follow some special writers. I invite you readers to read one of my favorites; perhaps you will look at past publications. Thank you. And thanks to Cher for doing this. Hello everyone! Thank you for hosting your party, Cher! My name is Lisa or L. My blog is called Life of an El Paso Woman. I blog about the El Paso people, places, things, entertainment, current events, my random thoughts and more. El Paso, Texas is a desert border town that’s 45 minutes away from Juarez, Mexico and Las Cruces, New Mexico. I included a post I wrote about a local comedian who’s beginning to do big things throughout the U.S. and eventually worldwide. He recently filmed a show for DirecTV and performs at various comedy clubs in El Paso and larger cities like New York City and Chicago. Meet El Paso Comedian Sam Butler. You may be seeing him on HBO and Comedy Central in the future.

Hi Cher, thank you for the invitation, so sweet of you, my lovely Canadian friend. As a native of Montreal, I brought some smoked meat sandwiches on rye for your party, with pickles too!
As for my blog, I’m a full-time writer, so I blog about my books and promote other authors’ books too. Every Monday, I feature a music post because I love music and it inspires my writing. On occasion, I throw up a ‘ craft of writing’ post,’ and those seem to garner the most comments and shares. Here’s an oldie — controversial for different reasons, but it’s always good to stir it up a bit. It’s called. About that C-word.
One of the genres I write in is erotica, so this relates to that.

Thanks for the invite. I’d like to share something from my humor blog, which tries to put up something daily and a long-form, roughly 700-word-post, weekly. A little while back I got to thinking about jobs, and how kids understand adult jobs, and this odd day when all us school kids were taken to the Garden State Arts Center (we were near it) and taught how to clap. It’s a bit more reflective an essay than usual for my Friday pieces but I’m really happy with it.

Sorry to be late to the party, Cher, long story and not an interesting one!!!
You sure know how to throw a party, eh!!! We Canadians love to party no matter where we are in the world. And you threw it on the Canadian Civic Holiday weekend too!!! Cool!
Before I wander around and meet and greet all the other guests, I need to get some of those treats!!!
As for the blog post, I couldn’t decide so I went with a old fav about blogging http://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/04/10/im-hooked-on-a-feeling/
Thanks for the invite to such an awesome party, sweetie, I’ll pop by again later, but now I have to pass the news of such a great bash along – the more the merrier!!!
Big hugs, Donna xo

Thanks so much Cher, you are so very generous 🙂 And I’ll share that post link too – it’s one of my favourites as well. I’m hoping to get back to the church in the next few weeks to take another photo, as well as visit my memories there… Okay, here’s the link http://journeytoambeth.com/2015/06/08/ghosts-of-my-grandfather/

The party is going strong, Cher. I visited a few sites as I traveled through 154 comments to leave another link – though I don’t believe the gang needs another. You had a terrific idea!! But, here is a more updated post – we can’t forget our canine soldiers!!

Hi Cher! I heard you had “butter tarts” so decided to crash! I’m glad to see Canadians represented, I guess there will be a few people here that would drink the “50” I brought for byob. Thank you so much for giving everyone the opportunity to get together and smooze. Here is my post on dreaming of being an empty nester. “I love you but get out!” http://www.livingwithbatman.com/2015/07/21/adult-children-living-at-home/

*LOL* Hi Elena! Oh I hear you my dear! If there is ever mention of butter tarts when I travel to Canada, I’ll be there! Hehehehe Yes, most definitely there would be some Canucks that would drink the “50”; and by the way, thanks for the byob!! Ah, great blog you have and equally great post, Elena! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Help yourself to as many butter tarts as you’d like! Cher xo

Hi again everyone! Here is a post I did about meeting an El Paso psychic medium at her shop. Her name is Lady Diana Calamia. I also wrote about some so-called haunted places in El Paso such as Concordia Cemetery and Monteleone’s Italian Restaurant in this post. I have a separate post with photos about Concordia too.
