As we continue with our Chicago skyline series (*grin*) this photo presents a different perspective on a section of downtown buildings. This picture was taken while I was on a boat cruising down the Chicago River. Can you see Trump Tower in the distance? With large, lit buildings flanking both sides of the riverbank, it is no wonder why viewing Chicago’s downtown area via the Chicago River is a special experience. Oh, and at night, too; this provides an entirely different context, don’t you think?

Like the stars came down from the sky to visit the city.
Lovely, Cher. 🙂
Hope this day treats you kindly. 🙂

What a lovely thing to say, Donna! I love it! Thank you so much my dear! It’s a cloudy, cool day here! Watching the fog over Lake Michigan is actually kind of interesting! And to you as well my dear! Thank you! Cher xo

Always enjoy your photos from the windy city. I have yet to travel the river… That will be on my list of things to do the next time we visit the city. When we were younger, my family thought my wife and I were nuts when we would drive 10 hours to vacation in Chicago. The museums were my favorite places to hang out. A friend of mine and I both completed a never-again experience when we landed a small plane at Meigs Field shortly before it closed.

Thank you, John! I know I am not the best photographer in the world, but I sure do try! Yes, you must cruise the river and Lake Michigan. You will love it! In fact, I’m going to be doing a post in the next day or so about an upcoming Lake Michigan cruise I’ll be taking! Yes, I’m a museum person as well. Oh, I heard about Meigs Field and the ‘interesting’ way in which it suddenly vanished! Cher xo

This would be a great experience. Wonder how the basements stay dry next to all that water!

You know John, that is an excellent question! There’s a river walk beside the Chicago River, but what’s going on underneath is something I don’t know about. California doesn’t have enough water, and we’ve got PLENTY! Did you know we get our drinking water from Lake Michigan? It is the best tap water I’ve ever had. Cher xo

Love it!! Now I know it is the “Trump Tower” on Mike & Molly, was always curious what that was! Thanks Cher!!!

Hi dearie! That’s the one! *LOL* A number of Chicago sports folks live there; to name one, Mr. Patrick Kane of the Blackhawks! It is VERY, VERY expensive! I’ve walked past it, and felt as if I wasn’t dressed up enough to go on the sidewalk! *LOL* *LOL* Love, Cher xo
