I thought I’d try my hand at poetry; I hope you enjoy it!
Hues of Change
The distant colors, now faded hues,
Clouds contain the mystery of its darkened disposition,
Casting but a memory of shimmering light sparkling on white capped waves,
Luminosity shadowed by an overcast of steel-grey,
And yet, seen through the vision of retrospection not so long ago,
Brilliant beams of yellow and orange cascading through the slender portals of distant veils,
Awakened to their spectrum, engaging in renewed and vivid wonder,
Horizon lines reconstructed once again,
Light asunder called forward,
Renewed with the gentle whisper of shifting darkness,
With manifesting light, sublime, yet again.

How sad the image is! 🙁
I hope the color does not affect your day.
Hi dear belsbror! Some days I actually enjoy the melancholy scene over the lake. But guess what? The light I spoke about in my poem has manifested and it is sunny now! The clouds are moving along, and all is well! Thank you and I am sending a sunny hug to you!! cher xo
The relentless grey does have a good side in that when a bit of sunlight bursts through the color it brings becomes so much clearer. I imagine maybe the best sort of photograph would be of something brilliant, like, a roller coaster, standing out against the blue-grey background.
I quite agree, Joseph. Certainly the contrast does allow for a much clearer view. Ah, the roller coaster against the blue-grey background; what a wonderful picture! I can literally see it in my mind’s eye! Thank you, Joseph! Cher xo
Luminosity. What a great word. I’m going to try to sneak it into a meeting today.
Let me know how it goes, Mark! 🙂 Cher xo
I couldn’t make it work. There’s always tomorrow!
Indeed, Mark! Do try again and please let me know! Hhhhmmm, perhaps it would help if you mention that by choosing to do something a certain way, it would bring luminosity to the situation! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Nice. Fact is, I have a meeting tomorrow with a lighting company. Surely I can work it into that sales call!
Are you serious? *LOL* I am laughing right now I can’t believe that bit of luminosity! Mark, you must use the word tomorrow! It’s perfect!!!!
I shall!
Lovely poem! Beautiful description of “grey Wednesday with manifesting light yet sublime again.” Sounds like Chicago has fickle weather too. Anyhow, the sun shone for you!!! 🙂 Love. Iris
Iris, thank you so much! Chicago is very fickle in the weather department! *LOL* And yes, let the sun shine in!! Love, Cher xo
Beautiful poetry! Perfect description with a perfect pic! What a wonderful description of a grey day! So now you are enjoying your sunny day?
Awh, bless you! Thank you so much. I thought I’d give poetry and try and that’s what I got! Oh yes, the sun is lovely, thanks and I’m having a great day! I hope you are too!! Your comments have certainly made mine! Cher xo
Loved the poem, Cher. Beautifully descriptive with such well chosen words.
Oh Don, thank you so much for your kind words. I haven’t delved into poetry before, so I was hoping it would sound okay! Hugs, Cher xo
Love your poem, and your choice of colorful words can inspire us all. Glad the grey went away.
Awh, thanks so much! I really wondered what the poem would sound like. And yes, grey skies cleared up!! Thank you!!! cher xo
Ooooh, pretty! Where is that photo taken? Today is bright, sunny + blue skies in Vancouver! Can you believe it?!
That photo is Lake Michigan right here in CHItown! It’s sunny here now, but what did you just say? It’s SUNNY in Van? *grin* Cher xo
I like your poem. I also like the image. You captured a moment in life. Not all are sunny. Good job. Hugs, Barbara
Thank you, Barbara! I agree with you; it’s sunny now, but this morning was a rather melancholy day! Hugs, Cher xo
Just lovely. Brings to my mind the balance of life, the pendulum swing. How we cherish the sunny days all the more for having had the grey. Loved all of it, and this especially stands out for me right now: “Luminosity shadowed by an overcast of steel-grey”. So poetic. Thank you for sharing your shining light here Cher! xo Gina
Thank you, dear Gina! When the rays of sun begin to peek through the grey, it reminds me as well to appreciate it all the more! Thank YOU! Hugs, Cher xo
