A Wonderful Winter Sky

When I looked out of the window this morning I thought, wow, this is the epitome of a winter’s sky.  With what appeared as a wall of grey-blue clouds, along with whisps of light, streaky clouds, added to that the sun’s muted rays bursting upward, I’d say this is a pretty good ‘picture’ of a mid-western, chilly sky.

In relative terms, it is ‘cold’ here in Chicago.  Now, as I’ve mentioned before, I dare not complain about it, lest my lovely fellow Canadians remind me that it’s not, ‘as cold as it is in the Great White North’.  That is, in places such as Edmonton, Alberta, or Winnipeg, Manitoba.  That’s a different kinda cold altogether!  I like to refer to it as a, ‘sub-arctic’ cold.  When your eyelashes are covered in frost, when there is, ‘ice-fog’ created from the exhaust of your car so you can’t see 10 feet in front of you; yes, that’s cold.  Ah, when you step out into the clear, bitter day and begin to cough from the sheer & utter frigid temperatures in your lungs; yes, that’s cold.

Ahem, therefore:  no complaints here!
