I used to try my hand at growing all kinds of house plants. What a delight to grow plants that actually graced the world with their presence long enough to stare out the window for several Canadian seasons.
For me, the green thumb boat sailed into weed-weary waters some time ago.
About 2 1/2 years ago, I was given a beautiful purple orchid from a dear friend here in Chicago. I love flora, and admire those who seem to have an inner knowing of how to grow and care for these natural beauties. I, however, am not one of those people.
I prayed, oh how I prayed I would keep this beautiful orchid in the spirit to which it was accustomed. There have been 3 or 4 times when a spike poked out of the soil, showing signs of hidden purple treasures. Perhaps my purple thumb has not been so bad after all.
Here’s hoping your Sunday is filled with serenity and soulfulness.
