Box Turtle Beauty!

Turtle

Behold the, “Box Turtle”!  If this little guy has peaked your interest, please, do read on!

As you might recall from previous posts, I absolutely love Lincoln Park Zoo here in Chicago.  It is a zoo, a park, conservatory, serene, calming, and fascinating all in the same space!  There is a wonderful little area with turtles that I always like to visit.  I love turtles; to me, they have the wisdom of the ages written on their faces.  I don’t know why I think this, but I do.  On one occasion I didn’t see the turtles in their watery environment.  As I looked around to see if I was missing something, a park attendant caught my eye.  I asked her where the turtles were hiding.

She noted that the tanks were being cleaned, and that the turtles were hanging out in a few containers, “over there”.  Of course I went, “over there” and saw this curious cutie looking around to see when his house remodeling would be complete.

And then it dawned on me; this dear turtle was lovely; his orange, unique patterned shell was wonderful, yet he was unaware of it.  This made me think of a similarity between humans and beautiful turtles; their beauty is literally all around them, but they remain unaware.  I hope you realize your beauty and wonderment; take a look!!
