Downtown Chicago: A Garden in Our Midst

Isn’t this a lovely sight?  Lurie Garden is located in Millenium Park, just a few steps away from Michigan Avenue.  The garden has four seasons, just like weather.  Plants and flowers are showcased based on the season.  Some refer to it as ‘living art’; I quite agree!

In the midst of a busy and boisterous city that is Chicago, it’s such a pleasure to step away for a moment or two and walk through Lurie Garden.  I think the word I want to use here is, “juxtaposition”.  The two opposite sites look lovely together, I think.

The little walkways through the garden area actually ‘cut through’ a large and tall ‘wall’ of shrubbery.  As you walk ‘through’ the bushes, the next thing you see are beautiful grasses and flowers that look as if you are walking through a Prairie grassland.

A nice reprieve for visitors and locals alike!
