The Chicago Files: Four Year Blogiversary!!!!

So here I am, back to taking pictures of beautiful, blue Lake Michigan.  Last night over the lake was a sight to be seen! The moon was shining so brightly, and its beams caused a section of the waves below to become illuminated.  Each time a wave crested and crashed onto the shore, the water appeared as if it were neon white; you know, similar to a firefly’s glowing light.

In case you are wondering why no pics of this magical display of nature, I tried to capture it but my camera decided not to cooperate.  Having said that, I received a lovely new camera for Christmas which I will be testing out very soon!  I think the moon’s beams have no chance not to be captured now!

Oh, I’ve already written two paragraphs without mentioning anything about the title of this post! The fine folks at WordPress are brilliant at providing bloggers with milestone reminders; for me, this means a message that my blog is now four years old! Wow, it’s hard for me to believe it, as the time has virtually flown by in a New York Minute (or more appropriately, a “Chicago Minute”! – I think I just made that up)!

Some of you have been with me from the very beginning; others have recently found their way to my humble little page.  To all of you, no matter if you are a first-time visitor, or know my blog well, I would like to thank you.  Thank you so much for the comments you make, for the likes you leave, and for the energy you bring to my blog.

When I started my blog I honestly had no idea what it would be like, whether anyone would even stop by, and if they did, would they find what I posted something they enjoyed to read?  I think my blog has changed quite considerably since my first year of posting.  I look back at those early days and like some of what I wrote, and feel the opposite about other stuff.  At the beginning of my blogging adventure I tried to include a lot of, “Did you know this about Chicago” content.  For example, did you know that one of the first ‘automatic’ car wash stations was created right here in Chicago? Since I am a Canadian living in this large, American city, I was literally learning about it at the same time I was sharing it with you!  Now my posts have morphed into a lot of photos around the area (and of my travels), people I have met, and my opinion about these meetings, and an emphasis on kindness and compassion.  Since the sunrises here over Lake Michigan are spectacular, I absolutely love sharing them with you.

So here’s to you, my dear readers, for stopping by and embracing the content of The Chicago Files.  From the bottom of my heart, you have enriched my writing and made me feel so much gratitude for joining me on this Chicago journey.  Thank you.
