Please hold onto the railing whilst you look at this photo!
During my recent stay at the beautiful Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, I happened upon the very interesting optical illusion known as the staircase!
What you are seeing in this picture are the stairs leading to all eleven floors of the hotel. I was on the top floor, so believe me when I tell you I certainly ‘held onto the bar’ while taking this photo.
I must admit I was a bit nervous while holding the camera over the railing. Nonetheless, I thought it would make an interesting shot.
Although it does make me wonder why the architects who designed the Biltmore back in the 1920’s decided on such an open (and a tad bit scary) structure.
P.S. The entire time I was taking photos I kept saying to myself, “Don’t drop the camera, don’t drop the camera.”
Luckily I didn’t; however, I think I’d have been a tad reluctant to hurry down the stairs to rescue my equipment!
