Sunrise Chicago: Welcoming

This is the first sunrise pic of 2018!

I must admit that even by my, ‘Canadian standards’ it IS cold here in Chicago! If you look closely at this sunrise pic you might see the frost hovering just above Lake Michigan’s surface.  For the first time in a very long time I can’t see the waves, as they appear to be locked in and frozen!  Looking out at Lake Michigan a few minutes ago I saw a barge on the horizon; I’m sure they are jetting through the surface ice quite nicely.

Back to the pic!  I thought this sunrise looked rather welcoming, as if to remind us that despite the frigid temperatures in our midst here in Chicago there is warmth (at least in the sky)!

Here’s to warmhearted thoughts on this glacial Tuesday!
