I love the, too, John! Were they? It is a bit unnerving the first time you see one begin to move, especially when you regularly travel across it! LOL Cher xoxoxo

I meant to type Bridge. The Dunedin Causeway in Dunedin, Florida where I lived years ago was raised fairly frequently as it is located on the Intracoastal Waterway. Beautiful beaches!

That’s okay, John! I knew what you meant! That must have been an amazing thing to see, John! Oh, I’ve never been to Florida, but I have no doubt that the beaches are beautiful! Cher xoxoxo

Really, you must go but not in summer. Try spring or autumn to avoid the heat and highest humidity. 😎🌴

You’re welcome, Cher. I advise the same thing for Las Vegas, you may not survive our summers! πŸ”₯🌴

How nostalgic for me. It reminds me of my home town back in Ontario, Canada. The wellan canal ran through two towns and was host to laker ships. I remember getting stuck before a bridge was going up to allow these big ships to ply the lakes as it were. Thanks for the wonderful memory that was picked out of the shelf of the past. Be well my friend and have a great weekend. love Joawph

Awh, I had no idea you were from my home province, Joseph! How cool that you are familiar with drawbridges! What a site it must have been to see these on a regular basis! Thank you my friend, and to you as well! Love, Cher xoxoxo

Very much like our own Tower Bridge in London, Cher. It’s great with the drawbridge goes up just as you’re passing as it doesn’t happen very much.

I didn’t even think about the Tower Bridge in London, Hugh. I imagine it is quite the site when it does go up. Apparently the drawbridges here in Chicago are on a schedule to go up twice in the Spring, and twice in the Autumn. I was lucky to see it here, too! Cher xoxoxo

I wonder why that schedule, Cher? Tower bridge opens whenever anything sailing up or down the river is too big to go under. With a lot of cruise ships stopping in London, those draw bridges go and down a lot.

Hugh, I think it might have to do with the fact that large freight ships no longer use the Chicago River, so that traffic on the water is primarily for leisure boats which are not normally large enough to warrant the drawbridge function.

I’ll check into this and report back!

Oh, do they, Hugh? I know we don’t have cruise ships that stop here. Yes, I imagine it is a constant occurrence, especially during high season! Thank you, Hugh! Cher xoxoxo
