Thank you, Don! They have appeared in many movies. I have heard that tenants are not allowed to park their own cars, given the design of the building. You can see on the lower floors there are only cars. I know in one movie they sent a car from the parking lot and in the Chicago River (on purpose, I think! LOL) Cher xoxoxo

They really are, aren’t they, Joseph? They were built between 1961-1968. The architect was quite the visionary, wasn’t he? I knew of a woman who lived in one of the “cobs” (LOL) and loved it! Thank you! Cher xoxoxo

Formerly where WCFL radio and WFLD-TV had their studios and where WLS-TV had their transmitter. I always wanted to live there…

John I had no idea! Thank you so much for sharing that information! I knew a woman who lived there and she loved it! I don’t know how I’d feel having a pie-wedge-shaped apartment, though! LOL Cher xoxoxo

Hi JT! The ‘formal’ name is “Marina City” but the “Corncob Buildings” is what I hear most often! I agree with you, appropriately named! LOL Thank you, JT! Cher xoxoxo

I thought I recognised them, Cher. I see from your comments that they have appeared in movies. They are spectacular buildings that, to me, look like they are made from corrugated cardboard.

Yes, they have appeared in movies which I still have not seen! LOL They do, don’t they, Hugh? When you first see them, it doesn’t seem that they could possibly be ‘real’ structures, so I wholeheartedly agree! Thank you, Hugh! Cher xoxoxo
