I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Fourth of July!

Despite the fact this has been a year unlike any other, I take pause to appreciate this incredible country; its people, natural beauty, and wonderful spirit.

As a dual citizen I am reminded how extremely fortunate I am to call both the United States and Canada “home.”

There is another special event I’d like to mention. My sweet Grandma (Grace) was born on this day. We used to tell her that the fireworks were not only for the Fourth of July, but to celebrate her birthday as well. Her parents were American, although she was born in Canada. Happy Birthday, Gram; I know you are always with us.
