Throwback Thursday: The ‘Teeth’ of the Polar Vortex, 2019

And what a throwback it is!  Last year around this time, a good portion of the country experienced a “Polar Vortex.”  Temperatures were well below the norm, and the landscape here in Chicago definitely changed for a short period of time.

Case in point:  I took the above photo near Lake Michigan at the height of the ‘vortex.’  What an interesting sight it was!  All I could think of when I saw this icy, nature-made sculpture was how much it looked like teeth!  More appropriately, it looked like a tooth extraction from a polar monster!

I recall being one of the only people walking along Lake Michigan that day.  To me, the temperatures were something I was very used to.  Manitoba winters are typically filled with temperatures rivaling a polar vortex; or, as some hearty Manitobans would say, “It’s just winter.”

Believe it or not, that is the tooth!  No, I meant to say, “truth”; yes, that’s what I meant to say!
