Monday’s Sunrise: Sky Painter’s Surprise!

***Update: Please take a look at the comment section of this post.  You’ll read Meteorologist Chris Murphy’s ‘official’ explanation for these interesting clouds! Okay, not the ‘official,’ but he definitely didn’t see it the same way I did! 🙂

Talk about an unusual sky this morning!  I think the sky painter decided to put an abstract exclamation mark in the sky!  The clouds you see on the left-hand side of the photo hovered for the longest time with barely a move in any direction.

I might have to ask Meteorologist Chris Murphy from “The Weather Network” about this interesting pattern!

Here’s to a week with great moments requiring exclamation marks!

Great picture Cher (as per usual)! Now, I think it looks more like a centipede (eeew!). This appears to be a jet contrail. There is some moisture in the air, and the exhaust from the jet is creating its own cloud. As we look further into the picture, there are thinner contrails going left to right across the photo, and those are further away. What is also cool, is that the upper wind is running perpendicular to the centipede, I mean cloud, and you can see those tiny offshoot clouds as a result. They kinda look like the legs!

LOL Hi Chris! Why thank you!! hhhhhmmm, icky centipede? And to think I was seeing an exclamation point! Haha Nope, the meteorologist is calling them by the “official” name: centipede clouds!! Now I am wondering if I’m going to have some bizarre-o bug dreams tonight! Thanks, Chris! LOL Cher xo 😉
