O Christmas Tree, There You Be!

Well wasn’t this a surprise find!  I was in Skokie, Illinois yesterday (just outside of Chicago) doing a bit of shopping.  I literally stumbled upon this gigantic Christmas Tree at an outdoor mall.  I am quite certain it’s artificial, but that’s okay, it looks lovely, don’t you think?

And I must tell you, I was just about to take a picture of the tree when a young man pulled up right beside it on a bicycle.  I thought, hhhmmmm, now how do I get the entire tree without him (and his bike) in the shot? I couldn’t.  So I waited.  And a bit more waiting.  Another man appeared from out of nowhere and lit up a cigarette.

My first inclination was, “Please get away from me, I cannot stand cigarette smoke,” and secondly I thought, “Oh no you don’t! Stay away from that tree!” LOL

He must have heard my inner voice, as he took his leave rather quickly I might add.

Now, back to the bike rider.  I am not kidding when I tell you I was actually going to say, “Say, would you like to appear in this picture?” I have a blog, so I’m sure people will enjoy you posing beside the tree!” (said Cher in a rather inner sarcastic tone).

As with the smoking guy, the biker rode away, just like that!

Ah, finally!  Behold, the surprise tree in all its glory, free of distractions!

It always happens, doesn’t it? You got the perfect photo opportunity and are about to take a photo, when somebody appears and photobombs. Gorgeous Christmas tree, though, Cher. I’m guessing it lights up, but I notice no fairy or star on the top? 🧚‍♀️✨

Oh it sure does, Hugh! I was thinking the same thing when this young man on the bike appeared out of nowhere. And I thought to myself, there is a HUGE mall right here; why are you stopping at the tree? LOL I was wondering that too, Hugh! I haven’t been there during the evening, but I hope there are lights on it! And no fairy or star on the top seems incomplete! Perhaps whoever decorated it became rather tired once they reached the top of the tree! Next time I’m there I’ll be sure to see if there is a ‘topper’! Cher xo

Ronnie, I don’t think in a million years I could have come up with something as brilliant (and accurate) as this! 😉 Cher xo
