For those of us who find ourselves in a part of the world where the warm days of summer cannot come soon enough, I bring to you a bit of a reprieve:
This breath-taking Conservatory brings with it a delightful display of poinsettias. I did not know poinsettias came in so many shapes and colors. I also associate them with Christmas; however, after seeing this amazing collection, I’d say they are ‘anytime’ worthy!!

For those of you with a green (or more appropriate, a red) thumb, do poinsettias grow this way, or was this the handy work of a plant wizard? Please click on the pictures to get the full effect, as it were.

Poinsettias used to grow all over the place in Australia, except perhaps Victoria and Tasmania which can get a bit nippy in winter. We had a huge poinsettia in our garden in Fremantle, Western Australia, and you’d see all sorts of colours in poinsettias when we lived in Queensland New South Wales. Beautiful tree but I know my aunt in the UK was quite amazed that we actually had them growing outside in Australia. They look lovely in that Conservatory.

We were in Florida once at Christmas time and they had poinsettias growing in the flowerbeds. Very cool!

Poinsettias are so showy and glorious in color. They spread themselves in welcoming “come hithers.” Truly a happy sight!

I love the photos, and poinsettia’s …. and how about feeling Soggy! and warm.. LOL….:-) We did have Sun but along comes the rain… Lovely to see colour and flowers lift our spirits…. Thats made my Thursday ! …. Thank you Cher..

In 2012, I bought a poinsettia called “Northern Lights”. It was beautiful shades of cream and pastels (pink, blue and purple). I loved it but I couldn’t find another one in 2013.
