Today is Thanksgiving in Canada. American Thanksgiving is in November (on the 23rd this year). As a dual citizen, I think I’ll celebrate both Thanksgivings! I thought I would list a few things today as to why I am thankful for Canada (albeit it certainly isn’t an exhaustive list)! I’ll do the same in November for my thankfulness living here in the US of A!
O, Canada:
I am thankful for your easy-going nature;
I am thankful for your majestic beauty from the West Coast of British Columbia to the Eastern Province of Newfoundland;
I am thankful your politeness; it feels good to say,”please and thank you” and have it heard in return;
I am thankful for your community spirit, where helping one another is an intricate part of the Canadian culture;
I am thankful for your recognition and your embracing of the diversity of your people, and how much it means to have a ‘country of inclusion’; and
I am thankful for hockey, Tim Hortons coffee, and butter tarts!
Happy Thanksgiving, Canada! I am incredibly proud to be a Canadian!
