A May Day Picture and Poem

May Day

A delicate fabric of bird song
  Floats in the air,
The smell of wet wild earth
  Is everywhere.

Red small leaves of the maple
  Are clenched like a hand,
Like girls at their first communion
  The pear trees stand.

Oh I must pass nothing by
  Without loving it much,
The raindrop try with my lips,
  The grass with my touch;

For how can I be sure
  I shall see again
The world on the first of May
  Shining after the rain?

Ah, thanks so much, Erika! I took that photo a couple of years ago while I was walking in my neighborhood! Yes, that poem is lovely! I’m going to look up more from the poet! May is great, isn’t it? Cher xoxoxo

It is, absolutely, my favorite month because the warm season just begins. But I am a little biased too because it is my birthday month… lol

Well I think those are two great reasons to have May as your fav month! I might need a little reminder as to what day this month is your birthday (hint, please!!) Cher xoxoxo

Awh, you are so kind, thank you! I had a very lovely day and (thanks to Corona) a peaceful one with only those few persons I really need around. No big thing. Sending you the biggest hug back to beautiful Chicago and again, thank you 🤗💖
