Sunday Serenity: Full Moon Over Lake Michigan

I have a confession to make. In all the time I’ve had my phone, not once did I ever check to see if it had specific settings for taking night photos.

Almost every time I would take a picture of the moon, rarely did it turn out (save the photo in the header of my blog.) However, last night, for reasons unbeknownst to me, I decided to see if there was a setting that would allow for night photos.

Lo and behold, there it was, with the most unusual name: “Night.” *my grin is a big as the full moon.*

So here it is, a photo with the proper setting in place – the full moon gleaming down onto the surface of Lake Michigan.

I don’t know if this was a lesson for me to be more thorough, or what! Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy the photo, and here’s to a lesson well learned by yours truly!

That’s a beautiful catch. I discovered this night mode too on my phone. But for some reason, it doesn’t work with the moon anyway.

Thank you so much, dear Erika! Did you? Well I’m hoping that I’ll start learning my camera soon. I haven’t quite yet learned all of the features (it’s a Sony) so instead, I used my ‘usual’ phone! LOL Cher xoxoxo

Thank you, Cher. All good over here and spring has already began to move in too… yay!
Those different types of cameras and phones can be so tricky but also interesting like a surprise bag… lol

Thank you so much, dear Bette! LOL I was just saying to Erika in this thread that I have a Sony camera that I too need to learn, instead of using my phone’s camera! Cher xoxoxo

Ha ha! Who would have thought to look for a setting named “Night”? 😂😂😂

Beautiful photo. The moon here was huge last night.

Nice! Your cellphone camera does a nice job of setting a low light exposure.

Why thank you so much, John! I must admit I’m very fortunate to have a really good camera included in my phone. However, I do have a Sony camera that I’m really needing to learn! Cher xoxoxo
