Lake Michigan’s Wild Side: Waves-a-Plenty!

A couple of days ago Lake Michigan decided to show its might by producing some insanely high waves.  Apparently the waves reached between 6-9 feet in some areas of Chicago’s lakefront.

I was amazed at how high they were when I took this photo.  It was beautiful (yet scary) at the same time.

You can see how bluish/green Lake Michigan really is.

Mother Nature certainly creates incredible, always changing ‘scenery’ on Lake Michigan!

Why thank you, dear Sue! Yes, I do as well! Oh are they? Is Cornwall having a storm, Sue, or is it like here and just strong winds? Cher xo

I love when that happens. When I was a kid I used to rush down to the outer drive so I could watch the waves slam across the street trying to reach the buildings. It was like great and felt ENERGIZING, to say the least. 🙂

I bet it was such an amazing thing to see as a kiddo! It really is, isn’t it? Thank you, my fellow Chicagoan! Cher xo

It’s a huge body of water with a life of its own. We lived both inland (Arlington Heights) and near the water (Evanston) – I can still remember the relief of a lake breeze in the afternoon. Lovely shot! Reminds me of a washing machine!

It appears more like an ocean than a lake. Wonderful!
