The lovely Norm over at Norm 2.0 has a fun weekly feature called, “Thursday Doors”. He invites fellow bloggers to share interesting and unique doors that cross our paths.
I did a post about this door a few years ago, but I wanted to bring it back because it is so funny and no doubt raises quite a few eyebrows while looking at it.
What you are seeing in the above photo is a ‘door’ that is over 14 feet high! As you can tell, there is quite the guardian at the door!
Big Monster Toys is a Chicago company whose whimsy and unique style of making interesting toys and games has been a local staple since 2003.
To put things into perspective, here are a couple of people walking past the very large door:
Good thing this door doesn’t actually work. I don’t think there would be too many of us who could pass muster while this monster is working the door!
Thanks to Norm for challenging us to find those unique doors to share with you!
That’s great, love this! The bouncer looks mighty tough, Cher. 😮😍😎

It does, doesn’t it? I’m so glad those people walked by so I could take another pic to show how large the door actually is!! Cher xo

Fun post! I love doors, and up till now, I thought I was the only one. We’ve travelled in Europe a lot and I always take pictures of the massive antique doors.

Fun stuff! I have actually seen this one in-person and posted it a few years ago. I saw and shot it from a bus on a city tour. I like that you got a ground level shot with people in it for perspective. Nicely done 🙂

Ah, thanks, Norm! Now, that particular area of town isn’t exactly filled with touristy things so I wonder if they swung by that area just for the door! LOL I literally waited until someone walked by, Norm! I didn’t see many people on the street, so I stood in front of the door hoping someone would come by and (thankfully) they did! LOL Cher xo
