Macy’s Christmas Tree Tradition!

**There is a new recording to accompany today’s post just above this message!

I had the opportunity to take some photos of Macy’s stunning Christmas tree!  Talk about mammoth! Wow!  The theme for this year’s display is “Chicago Landmarks”.  If you look closely at the bottom of the tree you will see  little replicas of the “L” Train, Merchandise Mart, a Picasso Public Art piece, Aon Center, and Willis Tower (I must be missing one or two I think)!

The tree is located in the very iconic, “Walnut Room” which is a restaurant that harkens back decades when shopping and stopping for a fancy bite to eat was on the menu (yes, pun intended!)

In the past there was a place to take fabulous photos (actually one floor above the restaurant) but it’s closed which is such a shame.

There are some beautiful decorations located in Macy’s so I’ll be posting more soon!

The tree looks massive! So this is what your voice sounds like. 😎👍🏻

Isn’t it, John? In order to get a closer look, I would have to be a customer at the restaurant. It was too crowded for my liking, so I stood back with all of the other picture takers! LOL Yep, so I think that is what I sound like! Hahaha Cher xo

Cool. The tree at the Macys by our house is about four feet.

I have fond memories of lunch under the tree in the Walnut Room, long before Macy’s had any thought of buying Marshall Field’s. But you knew that… It’s still a spectacular tree!

LOL You always make me laugh, John! Even though I knew that, I always appreciate your comments! I wish I had lived here when it was still Marshall Fields; you know, for comparison. It really is, isn’t it? Quite the mammoth I must say! Cher xo
