The Gift From the Monarch Butterfly: Here’s Why

Yesterday was the Fourth of July, and in the US we celebrated America’s Birthday.  I wrote a post about it:  Happy Fourth of July From the Chicago Files!

In my post, I mentioned that not only would there be lots of fireworks displays, but that I always think about my grandma, as she was born on the Fourth of July (so the fireworks are for her too, especially since her parents were American)!

Today I was walking down my street and I saw a butterfly land on a tree branch.  As I fumbled in my bag for my phone to take a photo, instantly I thought, “Gram!” This is a little hello from her.  You see, my grandmother absolutely loved Monarch butterflies.  I have not seen a single Monarch butterfly all summer; but here it was, as gentle and delicate as they come, waiting for me to snap a photo.

I took five photos; just as I went to put my phone back into my bag, the butterfly ‘fluttered’ away.

I don’t think there could have been a bigger grin sweep across my face than the one I had when I saw this beautiful creature on the tree.  I made sure to say, “Thank you!” because I would like to believe that it was a “God-wink from Gram”; no, I’d like to change that.  I KNOW it was from Gram!

I hope you are having a lovely, gratitude-filled day!

Nothing like an amazing monarch butterfly to brighten our days… Still waiting to spot our first here in central Maine. The milkweeds are waiting…

Hi Bette and welcome to The Chicago Files! Aren’t they the most lovely creatures? Ah, and once they do arrive, seeing them among the milkweeds will be such a treasure, won’t it? Thank you, Bette!! Cher xo

Hi Bette. Likewise! Ah, that is so true, isn’t it? I post a lot of sunrise photos, and each one is a gift that is different from the previous ‘sky show’. Oh, it will be wonderful when they return, won’t it, Bette? Cher xo

    Good northern morning Cher:
Whenever I see a butterfly it reminds me of my friend, Marilyn, who is also in Heaven, as she too loved the winged creatures. As with the butterflies, each time I see a ladybug I think of my friend, Jackie, who too is partying in the clouds, as these were her flutterers of choice. Enjoy the day! (((hugHUG)))s

Bonjour, Maman Williams! Ah, bless; it is so wonderful when we can see these little “God Winks”, isn’t it? I love how you describe this! Merci beaucoup! Hugs, Cher xo
