Sunrise Chicago: Welcoming

This is the first sunrise pic of 2018!

I must admit that even by my, ‘Canadian standards’ it IS cold here in Chicago! If you look closely at this sunrise pic you might see the frost hovering just above Lake Michigan’s surface.  For the first time in a very long time I can’t see the waves, as they appear to be locked in and frozen!  Looking out at Lake Michigan a few minutes ago I saw a barge on the horizon; I’m sure they are jetting through the surface ice quite nicely.

Back to the pic!  I thought this sunrise looked rather welcoming, as if to remind us that despite the frigid temperatures in our midst here in Chicago there is warmth (at least in the sky)!

Here’s to warmhearted thoughts on this glacial Tuesday!

Great photo Cher, and I’m amazed at how cold it’s been up there. It was like that two years ago or so. Stay indoors if you can! ❤️

Hi John! After just returning from Ontario, I was hoping Chicago would be a tad bit ‘warmer’; nope! *LOL* Ah, thanks John! I am a tough Canuck so I can handle the weather although I must admit that sunny California feels great right about now! 😉 Cher xo

I hope that it is getting warmer soon. Instead we are having a super storm blowing over central Europe…. scary!

It was not that bad in Vienna but at home there were serious damages … although not concerning me directly!

All is well around the house. Still we the signs of the storm (unrooted trees and branches next to the streets) are visible but no damages on the house, thank God!💖
