Shifting Perspectives – Look Up, Wayyy Up!

I was in downtown Chicago yesterday afternoon.  It was hot; for the beginning of Fall, our temperatures certainly do not reflect what is on the calendar.  Yesterday’s high temperature was 94F (34C).  I suppose with all the skyscrapers and people mulling about (almost creating an even greater incubator of heat) it felt even hotter.  Suffice it to say, I wasn’t in the best of moods; perhaps the word, “cranky” describes it better.

At my greatest ‘moment of crankiness’ yesterday, for some reason I looked up, just in time to see an airplane soaring across the sky.  I snapped a photo not knowing whether or not it would turn out at all.

When I took a look at the photo my crabby mood lifted significantly. I love how the blue sky and the glass in the skyscrapers seem to highlight the plane’s path.  It might sound silly, but this actually ‘lightened’ my mood.  Funny how something so incredibly simple can change your demeanor just like that!  For me yesterday, it was an airplane streaming across a cloudless sky with accompanying skyscrapers flanking the scene.

Changing your perspective can literally change your mood!

I truly envy you for the extended summer. But at least the past three days were at least warm and sunny after that really cold and wet weather we had all the way through September. I love your photo and wish I sat in that plane… sigh!

Ah, bless! Thank you, Erika! I think my Canadian roots are showing given that it is September and I am wanting the cooler weather! *LOL* Then you’d be coming back to Chicago and that would be great! Cher xo
