Summer is Here!

Happy first day of Summer!  Isn’t it interesting that while any season has an ‘official’ number of days and months, the weather certainly doesn’t always heed to the calendar, does it? For example, here in Chicago it has felt like summer for months!  I don’t know, it’s a bit of cognitive dissonance on my part.  Perhaps I can also liken it to age; you might think, okay, I know I’m ‘this’ old but I don’t feel it! Or maybe looking in the mirror brings thoughts of, wow, do I ever look tired today, but I don’t feel it!

Do you see where I’m going with this, or should I simply have stated, “Happy First Day of Summer; here is a photo I took of some lovely flowers!” *grin*

Happy Summer, Cher. We’ve had extreme summer weather for the last five days, including yesterday which was the Summer Solstice. However, today, it’s cool again and temperatures back down in the mid 6os. Phew! I don’t like it when I can’t sleep at night because of the heat and humidity, and Toby does not like it when it’s so hot that he can’t take his mid-afternoon walk. He’s a happier dog today. 🐶

Hi Hugh and a Happy Summer to you too! Thank you! Ah yes, I’ve heard that you’ve had frightfully hot weather! Certainly the cooler weather would be welcome, wouldn’t it? I don’t like humidity at all, Hugh. I am sitting here without air conditioning (would you believe the unit conked out once the weather became much hotter and humid here)! Repair person, where are you?? 🙂 Ah, I am very pleased to hear that Toby can once again resume his mid-afternoon walk, and you can resume getting some proper sleep, Hugh!! Cher xo

I can only imagine the Air Con repair person is very busy. It’s a bit like the heating breaking down during the winter. It only ever happens then.
        Keep cool, Cher. ❄️

Oh yes, I think they live for hot days in the summer and horribly cold days in the winter! *grin* Isn’t that always the case, Hugh? It sure does seem like it! *LOL* Ah, bless! Thank you, Hugh! Cher xo
