[I wrote this post when I first started The Chicago Files in February, 2014. I think it pretty much sums up how I feel about this day, so here it is again with a couple of ‘tweaks’! I hope you enjoy it!!]
This is Valentine’s Day. I know there are a million or more thoughts about this day. Some love the ‘love day’; some loathe it, and the rest don’t care. I want to say that love comes in so many forms, types, and ideas. One common factor is the same: the feelings. Whomever or whatever you love, your dear soul feels it in the same way. I love animals, and no truer words were spoken that the same love we have for a person is the same love we have for our furry and feathered creatures, bless them.
I know some of you have partners and some do not. Please remember this: to give love into the world and truly, and I mean truly doing this every day, is a priceless gift that you give yourself. It does come back to you in all kinds of ways. Herein lies the catch: you must be aware of it. It doesn’t have to be romantic love; it can be the love of books, the love of a sunset, the love of helping others. If we can spend our energy to focus on that which is right in front of us, the feelings that the Universe has for us in a multitude of forms will show up. In fact, it already has. You simply have to embrace it.
Now that I have doused you with some of my love lessons, I would LOVE to provide you with a little slice of Valentine’s Day from the deep dish world:

Ah, the Chicago deep dish pizza avec heart! Lou Malnati’s pizza is the BEST pizza I have ever tasted, bar none. Whether it is heart-shaped or round, I cannot say enough about the amazing taste of “Lou’s” pizza. Every person who comes to visit from Canada is treated to Lou Malnati’s pizza! No one has ever said they’ve tasted better pizza! If you are in Chicago, you must check out this incredible, Chicago, iconic ‘zah’! Oh, here’s their website: https://loumalnatis.com
Happy Valentine’s Day, from my the bottom of my pizza heart to yours! xoxo

Happy Valentine’s Day! We still get emails from Tastes of Chicago, although we haven’t ordered anything from them in a while. They’ve really put together an impressive catalog…

Love is what makes the world go round. Whether it is today or any day. I take your word for it, about the best pizza in the world. But, to be honest, we make a darn tasty and healthy version ourselves as well. Usually on Fridays, but as a “welcome home dinner” for the person we house and pet sat for last night: caramelized onions, broccoli, mushroom, spinach and mozzarella pizza. Homemade and super tasty! 🙂
